Thanks to innovative engine technologies, the M 936 G sets standards in terms of environmental friendliness. In addition, it is significantly quieter and reduces CO₂ emissions. When running on biogas, the CO₂ balance is even more attractive – making the engine the most environmentally-compatible model of the Mercedes-Benz Mannheim engine family.
The six-cylinder in-line engine achieves the performance of a diesel engine and at the same time sets new standards in terms of noise and exhaust emissions. Whether fuelled with fossil natural gas or with regenerative biogas – the M 936 G achieves far more than the required standards and will ensure a clean journey installed in the Mercedes-Benz Citaro NGT.
Two automatic transmission systems are available for power transfer: you can choose between the Voith DIWA.6 and the ZF Ecolife AP transmissions. Extremely long maintenance intervals of up to 60,000 kilometres contribute towards low operating costs. This way the Citaro NGT will remain on the road for a particularly long time.
