Madrid/Stuttgart – The Mercedes-Benz Travego Edition 1 is the Spanish "Coach of the Year 2012". Alberto Fermoso, sales manager of Mercedes-Benz Buses Spain, received the award from the hands of Rafael Barbadillo, president of the Spanish passenger transport association Asintra, in Madrid.
Since 1998 a jury of experts with representatives from the transport industry have been picking the best new commercial vehicles for the trade journals "Viajeros" and "Transporte 3" (Editec Publishing).
The Travego Edition 1 is the first touring coach that today already meets the emission standards going into effect in 2014. The vehicle features the new BlueEfficiency Power engines, a new transmission with new gearshift, a still further upgraded cockpit with optimised ergonomics as well as new safety systems. The Mercedes-Benz flagship allows forward-looking customers to take the early lead in eco-friendliness.
