An update for the Mercedes‑Benz Tourismo: more economical, digital, safer.

approx.

Extensive technical optimisations for the classic coach with the three‑pointed star.

Find out which comprehensive technical improvements make the Mercedes‑Benz Tourismo more economical, better networked and safer.

The Mercedes‑Benz Tourismo has always been characterised by excellent profitability and outstanding reliability combined with the highest standards of comfort and safety. Mercedes‑Benz has now given the classic touring coach a comprehensive technological update and further developed it technically: numerous optimizations have been made from the engines and drivetrain to the electronics architecture and the cockpit.

More efficient engine and modern transmission.

The Mercedes‑Benz Tourismo is equipped with a new engine generation. The perfectly coordinated interaction of the OM470 in‑line six‑cylinder engine with the automated manual transmission ZF TraXon 2 Coach or the automatic transmission ZF EcoLife CoachLine reduces diesel consumption by up to four percent - and this in a touring coach, which is already appreciated for its low consumption values. AdBlue consumption can also be reduced by up to nine percent. In addition, the technical prerequisites for the regulatory requirements of the future Euro VII standard are already being delivered. European regulations on noise emissions are already being met.

Our objective was to significantly improve profitability, comfort and safety at the same time.

New services and better ride comfort.

The profitability of the Mercedes‑Benz Tourismo is also further improved by the introduction of a new electronics architecture. This gives fleet operators access to state‑of‑the‑art digital services from OMNIplus ON - among other things, the Multimedia Cockpit Interactive is expanded to include intelligent and networked navigation functions. The Navigation Services Package is made available via the OMNIplus ON Portal after activation. In addition, the electronics architecture creates the prerequisite for even more driving comfort and safety on board the bus.

Safety and assistance systems at a new level.

The extensive safety and assistance systems on board are also being upgraded. Depending on the vehicle, new safety features will be available or updated. Active Drive Assist 2 (ADA 2), Active Cross Traffic Assist, Active Sideguard Assist 3 and electronic Park Brake Control (ePBC) are being expanded and refined at the same time. The interplay of the safety and assistance systems increases safety and ride comfort in equal measure. In addition, the further improved systems contribute to an economical driving style and thus reduce the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).

The Multimedia Cockpit Interactive as a digital control centre.

The Multimedia Cockpit Interactive intelligently networks the vehicle, its surroundings and the driver, and new functions simplify the driver’s daily work. Numerous physical switches can be replaced by intelligent digital control elements. For example, many functions can be controlled intuitively via the optimised touchscreen, whereby frequently used functions can be assigned as buttons as usual. Another new feature is that selected features can be conveniently activated by voice command, while an individually configurable favourites menu offers direct access to frequently used functions. In conjunction with a newly designed multifunction steering wheel, the Multimedia Cockpit Interactive turns the driver cockpit into a networked control centre.

The Multimedia Cockpit Interactive and the new multifunction steering wheel make the daily work of the drivers much easier.
