Bus Vannin continues its fleet replacement programme with additional four Mercedes‑Benz Citaro hybrid buses.
approx.
This year sees Bus Vannin celebrate 50 years’ public bus ownership on the Ilse of Man; Daimler Buses UK Ltd is delighted to support the occasion with the landmark delivery of a further four Mercedes‑Benz Citaro hybrid low emission buses for operation on the island.
Director of Public Transport at Bus Vannin, Ian Bates, and the extended team brought a unique challenge – the directive of an all‑new vehicle livery and interior design to enhance the visibility of 50th anniversary milestone. The brief was simple; modernity meets heritage with a signature Isle of Man look. Supporting the Bus Vannin team, the Daimler Buses design studio team within Daimler Buses GmbH’s Mannheim bus production plant produced a number of artworks – what we see today is the clear winner. The design studio is a modern facility, and consultation is available to all Daimler Buses UK Ltd customers at no additional cost.
Daimler Buses UK Ltd and Bus Vannin enjoy a long‑standing business relationship in excess of fifteen years; the latest fleet renewal cements agreements further.
The vehicles will be maintained on the island by Bus Vannin - a fully certified OMNIplus service agent. While Bus Vannin enjoys competency excellence and specialist equipment availability for comprehensive care of its own fleet, such backing also gives the operator ability to support the repair and maintenance of visiting Mercedes‑Benz and Setra coach models.
The four new Mercedes‑Benz Citaro hybrid vehicles delivered to Bus Vannin were supplied by Mercedes‑Benz Bus Sales at Daimer Buses UK Ltd.
