World premiere at Busworld Europe 2025: From 4 to 9 October, Daimler Buses presented the first electric intercity bus bearing the three-pointed star. Available in two length variants and with a range of up to 500 km, the eIntouro is ideal for use as a shuttle or school bus, or for short intercity journeys. The eIntouro was not only on display at the trade fair - visitors were also able to experience the eIntouro in action during test drives.

eMobility made easy.
The eIntouro is largely based on the familiar, diesel-powered Intouro. Body, axles, chassis, cockpit and interior fittings - Daimler Buses deliberately favour tried-and-tested components and fittings. This makes the changeover easier for drivers and also ensures high spare part availability thanks to a high proportion of common parts, thus ensuring operational profitability in the event of damage.
“Proven components ensure high availability and cost-effectiveness when switching to eMobility.”
Proven high-voltage technology.
The lithium iron phosphate batteries (LFP) are distinguished by their long service life and have already been successfully used in the Mercedes‑Benz eActros 600 electric long-haul truck. The new eIntouro is available with one or two battery packs, each with a capacity of 207 kWh. When fully equipped, the first electric intercity bus with the three-pointed star can achieve ranges of up to 500 km, depending on the type of use, topography, and driving style. The first battery pack is always located behind the front axle for better weight distribution, while the optional second battery is located at the rear. The eIntouro has a charging capacity of up to 400 kW (with two battery packs). It can be fully charged at quick-charging stations in just 90 minutes, so it is always ready for deployment.
“The batteries can be charged from 20% to 80% SOC in less than an hour, which facilitates shorter charging stops and greater operational flexibility.”
Powerful and efficient.
Powerful and highly efficient, the ZF CeTrax 2 dual central drive simultaneously ensures powerful starting and long ranges without recharging. With a continuous output of 320 kW, a peak output of 400 kW, and an integrated three-speed gearbox, it effortlessly meets a wide range of requirements — from hill starts to energy-efficient gliding on country roads and motorways.
Electric double-earner.
With a length of 12.18 metres or 13.09 metres and a range of up to 500 km, the versatile and configurable eIntouro optimally covers all areas of use of a traditional dual-use vehicle. Whether school transfers, intercity routes or short trips - the eIntouro offers the right equipment options for every application. In addition to various seating arrangements, a single or double-wide centre entrance is also available. For longer journeys, the 13.09 metre eIntouro is optionally available with a water closet in front of the centre entrance. A safety plus is provided by the latest assistance and safety systems: the optional Active Brake Assist 6 (ABA 6) emergency braking assistant, the standard Sideguard Assist 2, Frontguard Assist, Traffic Sign Assist and Attention Assist (AtAs) systems as well as the reversing camera and the optional 360-degree camera system. Instead of conventional mirrors, the MirrorCam is also available for the eIntouro.
Premiere: Over‑the‑Air updates
At Busworld 2025, Daimler Buses was the first bus manufacturer in Europe to showcase a function that has long been standard on smartphones: vehicle system updates can be transferred and installed via the mobile phone network at a specified time, meaning they're available immediately without the need to visit a workshop. This is made possible by the new OMNIplus ON “Over‑the‑Air Updates” service, which will be available in future for Mercedes‑Benz and Setra buses/touring coaches with the new B2Ece electronics architecture - beginning with the eIntouro. In addition to required security updates, general software updates and modified settings can also be easily installed in this way. Updates are controlled using the OMNIplus ON Portal.
