Our commitment to customers during lockdown period and beyond.

Dear Valued Customer,

Notwithstanding the impact of COVID-19 and the impact of the consequent lockdown and its extension, DTSA, through its various brands, has been able to continue to provide uninterrupted sales and aftersales support to customers delivering essential goods and services to a nation standing in solidarity to preserve the health and safety of its people.

As we are primarily focused on keeping our employees safe, following governmental guidelines and continuing perfect customer care, we wish to assure you that through our dealer network and teams across Southern Africa, DTSA remains committed to keep the world moving – during the lockdown period and beyond.

We are confident that, with all the tools at our disposal today, our Truck and Bus teams are available to field any business-related queries or purchase requests in the short-term specific to the delivery of essential services, while additional remote support for all transactions and queries, for after the lockdown, are also available at all times. Furthermore, the workshop and roadside assistance teams continue to operate with the highest level of precautions (as stipulated by the World Health Organization and local health authorities in the Department of Health and National Institute of Communicable Diseases) to protect the safety of our customers and truck and bus drivers and ensure maximum uptime for essential services vehicles.

We also wish to assure you that despite the suspension of most production manufacturing facilities internationally,  we, due to our experience in running real global production networks, continue to offer the most suitable vehicles available to address our customer’s current and future demands.

Mercedes-Benz Trucks, FUSO, Freightliner Trucks, and Mercedes-Benz Buses are committed to meet customer requirements throughout the lockdown period and beyond*, to the extent that it is reasonably and lawfully able to do so.

Finally, we would like to take this opportunity to relay our heartfelt acknowledgment and express our deepest gratitude to all our customers and their entire teams especially the drivers, our dealers and all our employees working tirelessly to keep our world moving during this time. * Given the impact of COVID-19 and the lockdown, we do anticipate potentially delayed or interrupted performance at times, as advised in our previous communication. This may continue to such date as any lockdown ceases to be imposed and the restrictive measures imposed locally and globally in the wake of COVID-19, and indeed such measures still to be imposed, are relaxed and/or abandoned. The consequences of the lockdown as well as all present and any future restrictive measures implemented both locally and/or globally could adversely impact our business operations, with particular regard to our potential or actual ability to perform timeously. Correspondingly, our qualified declarations in our previous communication shall remain applicable while any lockdown is in force, any present and future restrictive measures continue to be implemented, and while the consequences of the lockdown and such restrictive measures continues to impact on our business operations.
